Defending Breckland League champions Wymondham slumped to a 7-3 away defeat against Banham in their opening match of the season. With three regular skips unavailable Wymondham were forced to field a weakened team and Banham took full advantage to collect an unexpected win. Wymondham Captain Mark Linsdell named both Lauren Swann & Laura Hawksworth for their debuts for Wymondham. Will Hoggan’s Banham triple were 8-1 up after five ends against Melvyn Barker’s triple and ran out 27-11 winners. Jim Delaney’s triple added a 19-18 win against Laura Hawksworth’s triple to keep the pressure on the visitors. Mark Linsdell’s triple looked set to record Wymondham’s first win of the night but John Williamson took two shots on the last end to grab a 15-15 draw. It was left to Chris Mann’s triple to produce Wymondham’s only win beating Bill Francis 22-18. Other Breckland results saw Harling Griffins beat Forncett 6-4 and Shropham beat Connaught "B" by the same scoreline.
