Hingham entertained Thetford for the opening Breckland League match of the season but found the visitors in great form. Linda Dixon, Glynis Holbrook & Chloe Suffolk got Thetford off to a great start with a heavy 26-7 win against Graham Tweed’s triple while Neil Hipkin, Brian Jermy & Peter Scarborough weighed in with a 17-11 win against George White’s triple. After the break Suzanne Kenny, Clive Eke & Kacy Suffolk added a third win for Thetford beating John Chapman’s triple 18-12. Hingham’s only win of the evening was delivered in style by Cyril Cole, Trevor Oakley & Will Townsend who beat Jason Martin’s triple by 22-6. Thetford finished in third place last season, behind champions Wymondham and runners-up Connaught “A”, but they will hope to stage a serious challenge to the Attleborough based team for second spot this season. Wymondham will start the season as hot favourites to extend their run of Breckland League titles. With their incredible record stretching back years, and all their key players still in place, it is unlikely that anyone can really challenge them for the title at present.
26-7 win for Thetford's bright young talent Chloe Suffolk
