Norfolk Over 60’s entertained Kent Invicta for the second leg of their Annual Challenge match and retained the shield after a tight match. The visitors won by 49-47 on points on the day at Hingham but Norfolk Over 60’s triumphed by 101-91 on aggregate points, and 634-591 on shots, following their 54-42 win in Kent in the first leg. Session one saw Norfolk make a good start winning 8-4 on points but it wasn’t till session eight that Norfolk recorded another session win by 7-5. Kent also won two sessions notching up 8-4 points wins in sessions three and four. In a very competitive match sessions two, five, six and seven were all shared with six points each. Two Norfolk triples scored three wins out of four games. They were Mike Tate, David Chadwick & Graham Mobbs and Vanessa Russell, Jill Hayman & Trish Taylor. The Norfolk Over 60’s will meet for a Squad Day at Hingham on Thursday 30-7-26 before heading to North Yorkshire on Friday 7th August for a match against Arthur Jackson’s Select at Easingwold on Saturday 8th August and a friendly day of mixed triples on the Sunday. Another Squad Day will be held on Thursday 13th August prior to entertaining Friends of Essex at Hingham on Sunday 16th August.
