Incredible day for Norfolk’s Suffolk sisters

It proved to be an incredible day for Norfolk sisters Chloe & Kacy Suffolk of Thetford in the ESMBA National Under 18’s as they both powered their way to the final to make it an all-Norfolk affair. After a superb final, with both Chloe and Kacy in sparkling form, Chloe Suffolk emerged the winner by 10-6. Norfolk CSMBA, and their club side Thetford SMBC, will be so proud of their performance as will Pauline Barsby who worked so hard to establish this club and take them forward to where they are today. Chloe was drawn in Group 5 and won all her three games to top the group and qualify for the knock-outs. She beat Avon’s Bukly Bush 14-3, Leon Webb of Shropshire by 12-10 and Dyllan England of Oxfordshire by 19-8. Kacy played in Group 6 and won her group with a 9-5 win against Annabelle Almond of Greater Manchester and a 7-5 win against Lilly Duffin of North Yorkshire. Younger sister Kelsey Suffolk made her first appearance in the Nationals and although she failed to make it through her group she will have gained much experience and will be back. Alfie Woods of Bob Carter played in Group 1 and a huge 24-3 win against Megan Hulme of Cheshire and an 8-8 draw against Oxfordshire’s Matilda Green gained Alfie second place in the group and a place in the knock-outs but a defeat to Hampshire’s Chris Hardman brought his day to an end. In the Last 16 knock-out round Chloe Suffolk beat Haz Carter of Greater Manchester 13-8 followed by a 12-5 quarter-final win against Jacob Thomas of West Sussex. Chloe Suffolk then earned her place in the final with a 6-5 semi-final win against Leo White of Dorset. Kacy Suffolk won her Last 16 round tie by 12-10 against Jack Jeskins of Cornwall and the beat Mason Davis of West Sussex 14-3 in the quarter-finals. Kacy then stormed into the final with a 20-5 victory against Chris Hardman of Hampshire. Norfolk’s future looks bright with young bowlers of this quality coming through the ranks and the experience they have both gained as Norfolk County team regulars this season proved invaluable today.
