The National Fours Championships were won by the West Mids four of Adam Easthope, Nathan Caines, Craig Strong & Ross Dunkley. They defeated Thomas Perris, Paul Pomeroy, James Trott & James Smith of Devon 10-2 in the final. While it was Nathan Caines first National Fours title win it was nothing new for the other three members of this hugely successful West Mids combination. For Craig Strong and Ross Dunkley it was the sixth time they have won the National Fours title and for Adam Easthope it was the fourth time. Norfolk’s most successful four on the day were Jack Marshall, Simon Willies, Keith Cooke & Christopher Willies who reached the quarter-finals before losing 10-3 to the eventual winners. AJ Pye, Morgan Warnes, Jack Pye & Gary Best won their group and knocked out Ryan Knight’s highly rated Hampshire rink in the Last 32 round. But their title hopes came to an end in the Last 16 round when they were beaten 8-6 by Karl Hudson’s Devon four. Jamie Forster, Karl Newby, Ryan Fox & David Lamb qualified from Group 12 as runners-up and won their Last 32 round game by 8-6 against Emily Thomas’s strong Dorset four. But they were also eliminated at the Last 16 stage when they lost by 9-6 to Nigel Nicholl’s Cornwall four.
