Norfolk Over 60’s kicked off 2026 with a Squad Day on January 1st at Hingham Sports Centre. While there was initial doubt over whether enough bowlers would want to meet on New Years Day these doubts were quickly dispelled as just short of sixty bowlers arrived to start 2026 with a day of bowls. A reduced 8 mat format was expected to be used but it became obvious that the normal 10 mat format would be needed after all. Organiser Teresa Goldsmith welcomed the bowlers, and wished them a Happy New Year, before games started at 10am. Winners on the day were Jenny Walker of Thorpe Marriott & David Chadwick of Wymondham who won themselves a free day at the next Norfolk Over 60s Day on Thursday 15th January. Any NCSMBA registered bowler aged 60 or above is welcome to attend and just need to arrive at about 9.30am to book in for a 10am start. No pre-booking is needed. The playing fee of £5 also includes tea, coffee & biscuits and a warm welcome is assured!
