Norfolk opened their I.C.C campaign with a comfortable 32-8 home win against Northamptonshire. Norfolk’s rinks led the way gaining the maximum ten points in their discipline. Jack Gray, Chloe Suffolk, David Lamb & Gary Best were in blistering form winning their opening game by 26-3 and their second game by 16-5. Kacy Suffolk, Simon Warnes, Keith Cooke & Jon Sparham returned wins of 18-4 and 10-8 to make it smiles all round in the rinks. Halvergate’s Ryan Fox starred in the singles with wins of 20-10 and 18-4 and with Neil Davidson winning his first game 12-10 they collected eight of the ten points on offer. Norfolk’s triples did the same as Sid Burton, Simon Willies & Jason Woods won by 16-12 & 12-11 and Gavin Gray, Morgan Warnes & AJ Brown won their second game by 11-10. The pairs collected the two bonus points in their discipline finishing with a total of 44 shots against Northants 43 as they fought back from behind. The visitors won both opening pairs games but in their next session Debbie Sparham & Jack Pye won 14-9 and Karl Newby & Chris Willies won 17-7 to turn things around.
