Bob Oatway elected President of NCSMBA

Bob Oatway of First Bus was been appointed as President of the Norfolk County Short Mat Bowls Association at a meeting of the NCSMBA Management Committee on Tuesday evening at Hevingham. Bob is the eighth holder of the NCSMBA Presidents position. The first ever holder of the post was A.E Westwood JP of Jarrolds in 1987 who held the position for one year followed by W Jackson of Carleton Rode who served for two years. Sid Aspland of Chapel Break was appointed President in 1990 for one year. In 1991 Roy Grapes of Taverham, later Thorpe Marriott, was elected and served for five years. In 1996 John Richardson of Hevingham became President and served eleven years as President. The next President elected was John Aggas of Coltishall in 2007 and his time in the role lasted four years. John was followed as President by Brian Saunders of Wymondham who was elected in 2011 and served with distinction till he sadly passed away earlier this year.
