Bure League team Hevingham entertained Mulbarton of the South Norfolk League in a pre-season friendly last night which marked the first time these teams have met. Mulbarton deserve praise for their efforts in the South Norfolk League since rejoining after many years out. Compared to many of the teams they meet in the SNL they have far less bowling experience. But one of their players, Martin Pegg, caught the eye of the home side with an impressive performance and the margin of his triple’s defeat would have been much greater without his participation. Despite the margin of Hevingham’s win a great time was had by all and everyone is looking forward to the return match in Mulbarton on the 15th October, two days before Hevingham begin their Bure League programme with a visit to David Lamb’s talented Halvergate side.
