Horsford Gold, defending City of Norwich League champions, opened their campaign with a blistering 13-1 away win at Thorpe Marriott. It sends out a clear message that they have another league title firmly in their sights as the season kicks off. Chris Warnes, Mick Dale and Morgan Warnes were off the mark quickly for the visitors with a 21-4 win against Andy George’s triple while Barbara Russell, Chris Walsgrove & Gary Best weighed in with a 15-6 win against Tony Turner’s triple to make it a perfect first half for Horsford Gold. After the break Simon Warnes’ triple added a third win for the visitors beating Kath Frost’s triple 12-8. The remaining game ended in a 14-14 draw between Marriott’s Derek Sheldrake and Gold’s Ray Ayres.
