Wymondham move closer to another title

Breckland League giants Wymondham again ran riot at home as they racked up their twelfth straight win, a 10-0 victory against Harling Unicorns. Their fellow Breckland League clubs continue to struggle to master the Wymondham mats and yet again the home side recorded a big win on both points and shots. Steve Easter, Melvyn Barker & Debs Sparham led the way with a 37-3 win while Chris Mann’s triple won 26-3, Jack Pye’s triple won 24-5 and Jon Sparham’s triple won 17-10. Second placed Carleton Rode entertained Thetford and scored a 9-1 home win that leaves them trailing the leaders by 12 points with Wymondham having a game in hand. Terry Newby's triple won 16-9, Graham Mobbs’ triple won 17-12 and Russell Davidson’s triple won by 18-16. Karl Newby’s triple were held to a 15-15 draw by Chloe Suffolk’s Thetford triple. Wymondham and Carleton Rode are set to meet in the semi-finals of the Breckland 5 Pairs after the quarter-finals saw Wymondham beat Thetford and Carleton Rode beat Harling Unicorns. The other semi-final will be contested by Harling Griffins and Connaught A.
