Ryan Fox lifts Norfolk Singles title

Ryan Fox of Halvergate is the new Norfolk Singles Champion after defeating four times champion Neil Davidson in the final. It is Ryan’s second county title of the season having previously appeared in the winning rink in the County Fours. The preliminary rounds were played in five groups where Group 1 was won by Jack Marshall of Wymondham, Group 2 won by Neil Davidson of Hempnall, Group 3 won by Trevor Brown of Wymondham, Group 4 won by Morgan Warnes of Bob Carter and Group 5 won by Jason Woods of Bob Carter. The three best runners-up to make it through to the quarter-finals were Simon Warnes of Wymondham, Keith Cooke of Halvergate and Ryan Fox of Halvergate. In the quarter-finals Ryan Fox defeated former National Champion Trevor Brown 9-4, Neil Davidson beat Keith Cooke 11-5, Morgan Warnes beat Jason Woods 10-5 and Jack Marshall beat Simon Warnes 7-3. In the semi-finals Ryan Fox beat Morgan Warnes 8-3 while Neil Davidson gave himself a chance of a record breaking fifth singles title when he beat Jack Marshall 10-7. In the final Ryan Fox stepped up a gear beating Neil Davidson 11-3 with Davidson conceding after eight ends. The third place play-off saw Morgan Warnes beat Jack Marshall 10-7.
