Mulbarton take four points off title favourites

After only collecting two points from their seven league matches this season Mulbarton entertained SNL leaders Hempnall with little hope of adding to their tally. But as we all know nothing can be taken for granted in short mat bowls and Hempnall found themselves restricted to a 6-4 away win by the bottom of the table side. Shots wise Hempnall had no problem collecting the two bonus points for overall shots as Kerry Greenacre, Jack Gray & Keith Cooke stormed to a 38-2 win in their game and Paul Baker’s triple added a 17-10 win. But the other two games went the way of the home side as Jacqueline Rank, John Shaw & Chris Partner beat Karl Bunn’s triple 17-13 and Jayne Whitney, Mark Kerr & Marga Kempenaar beat Mike Pearce’s triple 13-12. In the Breckland League Harling Unicorns won a close fought match 6-4 at home to Forncett. Nigel Battley's 23-15 win and Mike Tarrant's 19-12 win earned the match points for the Unicorns. Mid table Thetford earned a 10-0 maximum home win against bottom of the table Shropham. Clive Eke, M Kontic & Jason Martin led the way with a 31-3 win while Thetford skips Chloe Suffolk, Peter Harvey & Peter Scarborough all won their games.
