First Bus hosted the City of Norwich League Triples Finals at their Aylsham Road venue where Thorpe Marriott’s Jenny Walker, Sylvia Turner & Tony Turner went through the night unbeaten to win the title. The Marriott triple won both games in their group beating Chris Walsgrove, Barbara Ayres & Ray Ayres of Horsford Gold 6-5 and then beating British Rail’s Rodney Brock, Pat Baker & Mark Baker by 5-4. In the other group Horsford Blue’s John Lofthouse, Richard McPhee & Keith Ruddock beat Costessey’s Malcolm Southgate, Roger Steele & Mike Ottaway 7-4 and drew 4-4 against Alan Bunn, Pat Williamson & Andy Drummie of Windows which was enough to take them through to the final on shot difference ahead of Windows. In the final Tony Turner’s triple took three shots on the third end to open up a 4-1 lead against the Horsford Blue triple and another two shots on the penultimate end gave them a 6-2 lead going into the last end. Keith Ruddock’s triple picked up a single on the final end leaving Jenny Walker, Sylvia Turner & Tony Turner winners by 6-3.
