In the Bure League East Tuddenham lead the way but only four points separate the top four. Tuddenham won 8-2 at home to Windows with Madge Meachen, John Jeffrey & Melvin Woods earning the evening’s biggest win beating Avril Walker’s triple 17-6. Geraldine Potter, Gerald Potter & Chris Mann beat David Walker 23-14 while Albert Palgrave, John Turner & Gary Best beat Diane Halford, Russell Daynes & Keith Halford by three shots. Pat Curchin, Diane Boswell & Mike Boswell earned Windows two points with a 16-8 win against Jean Woods, Robin Amos & Simon Willies. Woodbastwick earned two solid 7-3 away wins. At Kirby Bedon M Fox, Norma Jablonowski & Willie Jefferies led the way beating Joe Brown 21-11 while Peter Jablonowski’s triple beat Melvyn Barker 13-11. Lianne Mills’ triple played their part holding John Aggas to an 11-11 draw while Jill Watson, Jan Hewitt & Phil Watson beat Tony Wright’s triple 13-7 to record the only Kirby win of the night. Woodbastwick repeated the feat at Hevingham where Willie Jefferies’ triple beat Steve Hall 19-11 and Peter Jablonowski’s triople beat David Sharpe 14-7. Lianne Mills again drew her game, this time against Arthur Haynes, while Betty Cox, Chris Brooks & Mally Kemp scored Hevingham’s only win against Margaret Harman. Robbie Lamb’s triple stormed to a 28-8 win for Halvergate in a 10-0 home win against Horsford BC for the title contenders. Thorpe Marriott lost a close match 7-3 at home to Heroes. Andy Drummie, Carol Kemp & Mark Tuttle scored an important 17-10 win against George Clarke which secured the away win while Vic Webster’s triple weighed in with a 14-12 win against John Jarvis. Heroes skip Chris Woodhouse drew 12-12 with Sylvia Turner while Richard Perkins scored Marriott’s only win beating Jane James 16-12. Halvergate completed an easy passage into the Bure Cup Final by winning the second leg of their semi-final tie at Kirby Bedon by 10-6. Taking a big 19-5 lead into the match at Kirby the visitors had completed the job after three sessions when they led 7-5 on the night. Just one more session was played after that with the final score 10-6 to Halvergate, 29-11 on aggregate. Kevin Watson, Ray Lamb & Robbie Lamb were top scorers with wins of 7-3 & 6-4.
