Afternoon Summer League action saw league leaders Shropham go down by 6-2 at home to Watton. The visitors made a great start winning both first half games as G Stanbridge, Val Baldry & Dennis Gower beat Michael Godbold’s triple 11-9 and Michael Smith, Rosemary McQuoid, Norma Gower beat Richard Stevens’ triple 10-7. Watton’s Jane Fensom, Des McQuoid & Richard Adams added a 13-12 win in the second session against Richard Broad’s triple while Valerie Hambling, Peter King & Michael Godbold scored Shropham’s only win beating Malcolm Southgate’s triple 19-7. Thetford were held to a 4-4 draw by visitors East Harling who remain two points ahead of Thetford in the league. Chloe Suffolk, Keiren Suffolk & Peter Harvey of Thetford opened with a solid 16-5 win against Len Deathridge’s triple and Dave Bourne, Sue Colledge & Jason Martin added to Harling’s problems beating Rob Newman’s triple 15-10. But the second half belonged to the visitors as Iris Smith, Juliet Langridge & Staurt Longridge beat Pete Scarborough’s triple 19-5 and Mary Wright, Len Deathridge & Derek Ryder beat Mick Colledge’s triple 11-10.
