Davis dreams of cup glory as Harling storm into semi-finals

Harling Yellows are into the semi-finals of the Norwich Cup after yet another convincing home win in the revamped competition. Visitors Hevingham of the Bure League were making their first visit to Breckland League side Harling and suffered a similar fate to that of Hingham in the last round. Harling Yellows produced a solid all round performance that Hevingham failed to cope with in the opening half of the 30 end game and by the halfway stage trailed by 23-7. A comeback from this position would prove too much for the visitors, and despite holding their own in the second half, they failed to stop Harling recording a 38-20 home win. Harling Yellows captain John Davis was the mastermind behind this victory and while all members of his team put in strong performances special mention should be made of George Hume, Colin Hayman and Sid Burton for their roles in the victory. The rest of the Harling team, Jill Hayman, Lorretta Smith, Val Easter, Glen Hume and John Davis all played an impressive part in the win that takes them into the last four. They now join Wymondham in the semi-finals and await the  results of the Wortwell v Connaught and Thetford v Halvergate quarter-final games before the draw is made to see who they will face next.
