Thorpe Marriott top City League

With Christmas almost upon us Thorpe Marriott top the latest City of Norwich League table issued. A heavy 12-2 home win against Jarrolds leaves them eleven points clear of second placed Costessey. Top scoring triple were Lydia Kettleworth, Jack Gray & Derek Sheldrake who won by 14-4 while Gavin Gray, Kath Frost & Tony Turner won their game by 18-9. Defending champions Horsford Gold romped to a 14-0 home win against Windows with Morgan Warnes’ triple winning 29-0. Windows fared better at home to First Bus where they shared the points in a 7-7 draw as both sides scored 39 shots in a match that saw Keith Halford’s triple beat Steve Hall’s First Bus triple by 14-10. Taverham won 11-3 at home to British Rail with Richard Moore’s triple winning 19-4 while Trevor Winter, David Riches & Bob Taylor added a 9-8 win and Brian Turner’s triple drew 9-9 with Peter Johnson.
