Number One Mann in Norfolk rankings

Following the conclusion of all of the Norfolk County Championship events for the season the NCSMBA has published the updated Norfolk Points Table. The Top 15 will automatically receive a Norfolk County Squad Invitation for the 2020/21 season. Chris Mann of Wymondham retains the number one position in the Norfolk rankings after another successful season in which he won both the Norfolk Triples and Mixed Fours titles. Gary Best of Bob Carter holds on to the number two spot after winning the Norfolk County Pairs title. Jason Woods, also of Bob Carter, shot up from outside the Top 15 to number three after winning the Norfolk Singles Championship title for the first time. Consistent results across the board earned Keith Cooke of Halvergate the number four position, up from seventh last year. David Lamb of Halvergate slipped just one place to number five while Simon Willies of East Tuddenham dropped three places to number six. Jon Sparham, who won the Norfolk County Fours, slipped from five to number seven. Morgan Warnes of Bob Carter is this years top lady bowler in the listings after moving up from number fourteen to joint number eight after winning the Norfolk County pairs. Strangely enough the other joint number eight is Morgan’s father Simon Warnes of Horsford BC who finished third in the County Pairs. Tenth in the rankings, the same as last year, is Nigel Willard of Bob Carter. Last years leading lady Debbie Sparham of Wymondham slips two places to number eleven despite winning the County Fours title. Ryan Fox of Halvergate enjoyed his best season to date to claim a Top 15 place at number twelve and the sky is the limit for this talented young bowler. Medical problems continued to beset Hempnall’s Neil Davidson and he drops down from number six to number thirteen. Robert Howlett of Bob Carter moves up eighteen places to number fourteen while Melvin Woods of Bob Carter drops four places to number fifteen. Just missing out on a Top 15 placing are Hempnall’s Kerry Greenacre and Wymondham’s Jack Marshall. Bowlers dropping out of the Top 15 this year are Jack Pye and Steve Easter of Wymondham and Laura Hawksworth of Deaf Sports. The full Norfolk County Points table can be found on the Norfolk County Short Mat Bowls website under INFORMATION, COUNTY TEAM and then COUNTY POINTS TABLE.
