East Tuddenham firing on all cylinders

For the first time this season East Tuddenham were firing on all cylinders on their home mats in the Bure League. They inflicted a 10-0 defeat on visitors Horsford Heroes with Elaine Willies, Rob Howlett & Melly Woods leading the way with a 21-12 win. Chrissie Turner, Simon Willies & John Turner won 15-8, Billie Barker, Jean Woods & Melvyn Barker won 16-12 and Gillian Amos, Gerald Potter & Robin Amos won 15-14 in a tight game against former England international John Aggas. In the Breckland League Connaught “A” edged closer to leaders Wymondham with a 10-0 away win at Forncett. Connaught’s biggest win of 18-12 was by Jim Squires, Paul McDonald and Roy Taylor against Mike Smail’s triple. Owen Secker’s triple won 16-13, Mike Minshull’s triple won 14-11 and Lee Fallows’ triple won 19-18. Wymondham won by 8-2 at home to Thetford with David Chadwick, John Jeffery and Jon Sparham winning 36-4 against Peter Harvey’s triple. Billie Barker, Simon Warnes and Debbie Sparham won by 39-3 against Jason Martin’s triple and Roger Steele, Owen Cranston & Chris Mann beat Kieran Suffolk’s triple 33-4. Peter Scarborough’s Thetford triple denied Wymondham maximum points by beating Melvyn Barker’s triple 15-12. Carleton Rode, the other title contenders, entertained Hingham and won 8-2. Neil Davidson’s triple won 20-8, Russell Davidson’s triple won 25-7 and Karl Newby’s triple won by 23-12. But John Higgs’ Hingham triple stopped the Rode collecting maximum points with a 16-14 win. The new Coastal Cup League season commenced with Woodbastwick Owls starting with a 16-2 home win against Hemsby Harvesters and a 12-6 home win against local rivals Woodbastwick Eagles. Bradwell Dynamos did the double over Bradwell Robins in their local derby. Dynamos won 11-7 at home and by 10-8 away. Other results saw Hemsby Beachcombers win 14-4 at Bradwell Acorns and Hemsby Harvesters win 13-5 away to Martham. There was a big win for Connaught in the South Norfolk League. Their visit to Hingham earned them 10 points with wins on all four mats. Derek Liles, Steve Judd and Joe LiRocchi won 22-10 while Owen Secker’s triple won 17-12, Tony Ottewell’s triple won 11-7 and Mike Minshull’s triple won 12-10. In the Winter Afternoon League leaders Hingham beat Watton 8-2 with Pat Roache, Will Townsend and John Chapman winning 17-4. Second placed Forncett lost ground going down 8-2 at Thetford. Mick Colledge, Peter Rawdanowicz and Jason Martin scored Thetford’s biggest won of 17-3. Thetford also won 10-0 at home to Shropham while Harling Eagles beat Shropham 6-4.
