Harvey and Lamb star for Halvergate

A stunning performance by Mike Harvey and David Lamb of Halvergate earned their team a maximum 4-0 away win at Connaught in the Tens League as they beat the home pairing of Mike Parsons and Bob Oatway by 23-6. The two Connaught Mikes, Smail and Minshull, opened well for Connaught inflicting a 16-12 defeat on John Norfolk and Ryan Fox. But Halvergate won the other games with Robbie Lamb’s triple winning 15-12 and Karl Newby’s triple winning 15-11. In the Bure League Woodbastwick pushed home team East Tuddenham all the way before losing by just one shot resulting in a 6-4 loss. A brilliant result for Woodbastwick’s Brian Bunting, Tony Wright and Willie Jefferies, beating Gillian Amos, Gerald Potter and Robin Amos by 21-6, almost got Woodbastwick over the line with Les Harman, Damian Lamb and Peter Jablonowski adding a 16-12 win against Elaine Willies, Rob Howlett & Melly Woods. But East Tuddenham snatched victory with a big 24-7 win by Chrissie Turner, John Turner and Simon Willies against Margaret Harman’s triple. East Tuddenham have looked fragile at home this season and the closeness of this result will not give them confidence after previous home results saw them lose to Hevingham and held to a draw by Halvergate. Horsford Heroes good form continued with an 8-2 away win at Windows where Linda Chadwick, Les Harman and Sue Fox romped to a 21-8 win against Keith Halford’s triple. John Aggas’s triple beat Mick Harris and Mick Dale’s triple beat Di Boswell 15-3. Val Harris, ex Heroes bowler Andy Drummie & Mick Boswell scored the home sides only win beating Peter Fox 17-11.
