Carleton Rode visited Wymondham knowing that a good result would see them leapfrog the defending champions and take top spot in the Breckland League but the home side were too good on the night and beat their title rivals 8-2. The first half went well for Wymondham with Billie Barker, Simon Warnes & Debbie Sparham beating Russell Davidson’s triple 20-7 and Mary Fisher, John Jeffery & Jon Sparham beating Neil Davidson’s triple 18-8. After the break Roger Steele, Steve Easter & Melvyn Barker added a 17-7 win against John Jarvis. Carleton Rode’s only win was a 13-12 victory for Michael Newby, Terry Newby & Karl Newby against Chris Mann’s triple. Carleton Rode returned to winning ways beating Shropham 10-0 with the Newby triple again hitting form beating A Marshall’s triple 28-3.
