Second placed Horsford Heroes went down 10-0 at home to Hevingham in a hard fought Bure League encounter where the visitors just got the edge in all four games. In the first half Pat Williamson, Marjorie Hall & Aleck Haynes beat Mick Dale’s triple 15-9 while Teresa Goldsmith, Joan Costello & Selwyn Goldsmith won a close game by just 11-10 against John Aggas’s triple. After the break both Hevingham triples held on to win after a spirited comeback by Horsford’s triples on the closing ends. Richard Moore, Joyce Vincent & Maurice Kemp beat David Crosby’s triple 15-11 while John Wade, Chris Brooks & David Sharpe beat Les Chadwick’s triple 16-14. Woodbastwick took maximum points at home to Horsford BC with Les Harman, Damian Lamb & Peter Jablonowski beating Pauline Strivens’ triple 26-7. Margaret Harman’s triple won 18-10, Willie Jefferies won 16-10 and Tony Wright won by 11-9. Tens League action saw Bob Carter continue their winning streak with a 2-0 win at Hempnall thanks to a 19-11 win by Jackie Bridge, John Turner & Melly Woods against Paul Baker’s triple. Hempnall pulled off a solid 10-0 away win at Hingham in the SNL where Bernie Cudden, John Jeffery & Debbie Sparham won by 24-7 against Graham Tweed’s triple. In the Coastal League Hemsby Beachcombers won 18-0 at Bradwell Acorns to move 17 points clear at the top with one game to play. Second placed Bradwell Dynamos won 15-3 at home to contenders Woodbastwick Owls but have a game in hand on the leaders. Woodbastwick Eagles drew 9-9 at home to Bradwell Dynamos but beat Bradwell Acorns 15-3. A 14-0 home win against Taverham moved Horsford Heroes 13 points clear of Horsford Gold in the City of Norwich League. Horsford Gold lost for the first time this season when they were beaten 13-1 at Deaf Sports. Windows won 10-4 at Thorpe Marriott and Framingham Earl beat County Council 10-4.
