Halvergate off to a great start in the Bure

The first Bure League fixture of the season saw defending champions Halvergate win 9-1 at Horsford Heroes The only home triple to gain a point were Carol Aggas, David Brown and John Aggas who drew their game 14-14. Halvergate followed this win up with a 19-5 victory at Horsford BC in the first leg of their Bure Cup match and this proved enough to take them through to the next round as Horsford BC conceded the second leg. Maximum points were earned by Mike Tate, Nigel Willard & Simon Warnes who won their games by 9-3, 9-5 & 9-2 and Donna Lamb, Robbie Lamb & David Lamb (pictured) who won by 9-4, 13-1 & 5-3. Also unbeaten for Halvergate were Ray Lamb, Keith Baker & Jason Woods who drew their first game 6-6 with Christine Bugg, Cathy Fiddy & John Bugg before winning their next two games by 5-4 & 8-4. Halvergate will now play the winners of the first round tie between Horsford Heroes and Thorpe Marriott.
