Tens League teams needed for 2019/20 season

The Tens League is keen for new teams to join after a disappointing season which saw Hempnall’s withdrawal leaving only four teams taking part. At its height the league consisted of ten teams but the demise in recent years of clubs such as Kirby Bedon and Coltishall has led to its shrinking profile. An increase in competing teams is now needed to make the league viable. Because of the low number of teams entering a decision was made last season that the four teams would play each other home and away twice to keep the number of fixtures at a reasonable level. Unfortunately, this solution is not favoured by some players who feel they are playing the same teams too much. But others fear that the demise of the Tens League would deprive bowlers of the best scoring system of any Norfolk leagues, where the total shots system encourages team play, and the opportunity of playing pairs games rather than all triples which most of the other leagues do. Any Norfolk clubs who would like to join the Tens League for the 2019/2020 season are asked to contact the Tens League Secretary, Mrs Elaine Willies, as soon as possible on 01366 328824.
