Breckland League leaders Wymondham made it ten wins from ten games after achieving an 8-2 away win at Forncett. A good first half for the visitors saw Pat Saunders, Steve Easter & Debbie Sparham win 21-7 while Billie Barker, John Jeffery & Jon Sparham win by 16-11. After the break Roger Steele, Melvyn Barker & Chris Mann added a 15-13 win. Forncett’s only success was a well deserved 16-10 win by Jan Smail, Mike Smail & Peter Lock who beat Mark Linsdell’s triple 16-10. Second and third placed teams clashed as Carleton Rode entertained Connaught “A” with both teams keen to keep in touch with the leaders. The match did not go well for the visitors as Carleton Rode won on all four mats for a 10-0 win. Tony Oram’s triple won 17-9, Russell Davidson’s triple won 14-12, Graham Mobbs’ triple won 20-17 and Karl Newby’s triple won 21-12 as the Rode moved to just five points behind the leaders. Connaught “A” had an early opportunity to get back to winning ways with a home match against Hingham two days later. A 24-12 win for David Quadling, Derek Liles & Roy Taylor and a 24-7 win by Diana Adcock, Sylvia Parsons & Lee Fallows helped Connaught to a 6-4 win with Keith Thomas & John Hunter replying with wins of 18-17 & 15-14 respectively. Other results saw Harling Unicorns beat Connaught “B” 6-4 and Banham 10-0, Forncett beat Hingham 8-2 and Connaught “A” beat bottom of the table Shropham 10-0.
