Alice Payne - Rest in Peace

The NCSMBA is saddened to learn of the death of Alice Payne of Saxlingham and County Council. Alice passed away peacefully at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital last night at 10.45pm. Alice was one of the first members of the Norfolk Over 60’s Squad when it was formed many years ago and with her husband Geoff played for them ever since. Alice last played for Norfolk Over 60’s in their away match to Cambridgeshire Seniors earlier this month where her triple won all their three games. Alice also travelled with the Norfolk Over 60’s on many trips away including Ireland, Malta, Cyprus, Turkey and the Isle of Skye and enjoyed taking part in the Potters Cup Weekend and East Coast Over 50’s Triples Week on many occasions at Potters Resort on the Norfolk coast. Alice also enjoyed her long weekends away with the Squad in Kent and North Yorks. She will be greatly missed by the many friends she had made playing bowls over the years and the NCSMBA wish to express their deepest condolences to Geoff and their sons Ian & Colin and the rest of the family. The funeral will take place at the Waveney Memorial Park & Crematorium, Warrens Lane, Benacre Road, Ellough, Suffolk, NR34 7XE on Tuesday 15th January at 11am. Family flowers only please. Geoff has requested that any bowlers intending to be present at the funeral contact Teresa Goldsmith on either 01603-403628 or 07809 444276 so that he can be aware of the number expected. Teresa can also be e-mailed on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
