Neil Davidson of Hempnall & Jack Pye of Wymondham teamed up with Dom Reed & Steve McAlister in the SMPT World Fours Masters in Chelmsford and finished as runners-up after losing by 8-3 against James Trott, Craig Burgess, Simon Pridham and Mikey Ivings in the final. In the semi-finals they beat the Irish rink Beattie, Beattie, Moore & Beattie by 8-6 while Ivings’ rink beat Coates, Coates, Dillon & Young by 12-1. McAlister’s rink had finished second in Group 9 to qualify for the knock-outs where they produced two tight wins of 8-7 & 6-5 to progress to the semi-finals.

Jack Pye of Wymondham played with Karl Hudson in the SMPT World Pairs Masters and started well beating Jonathan & Demitri Payne of Belgium 10-7 in their opening Group 8 game. After surprisingly losing 10-7 to Barry & Bobbie Whitburn in their next game they returned to winning ways beating Rob & Greg Wade 14-4 to finish top of their group. In the first knock-out round they found Paul Pomeroy & James Smith too hot to handle and went down 14-4. Neil Davidson of Hempnall played with Mo Binstead and finished bottom of Group 7 with their only points earned in a 14-4 result against Sam Harvey & Emily Thomas. This left them in the Plate competition but they were knocked out in the first round losing 8-7 to Chris & Susan Banfield.
