Hempnall win local derby in SNL

Hempnall entertained Saxlingham Nethergate in a South Norfolk League local derby but proved too hot to handle for their near neighbours. Kerry Greenacre, Roger Parker & Chris Mann are a formidable triple on paper and Geoff Briggs’ triple found themselves outplayed as they were beaten 33-4. Geoff Payne’s Saxlingham triple gave Charlie Archer’s Hempnall triple more of a problem but the home triple still edged home 12-10. The second half was one way traffic as Paul Baker’s triple won 21-6 and Rob Cranston’s triple won 20-11 with Hempnall collecting an expected 10-0 maximum win. Diss won 8-2 at home to Wreningham with Terry Newby winning 19-3 and Trish Taylor winning 21-8. Saxlingham will feel hard done by as they lost two games by just one shot, and drew a third, but were beaten 9-1 at home by Horsford. Andy Drummie’s triple led the way for the visitors winning 15-9 while Vic Webster won 13-12, Peter Fox won 17-16 and Roger Frank drew 14-14 against Sheila Hook.
