Tens League favourites Halvergate moved top of the table with away wins at both Hevingham & Connaught. At Hevingham Ryan Fox & David Lamb beat Teresa & Selwyn Goldsmith 20-15, David Knights & Keith Cooke won 19-18 against Pat Williamson & Steve Hall and Mike Harvey, Robbie Lamb & Josh Baxter beat Betty Cox, Rex Cox & Aleck Haynes 14-11. Alan Bunn, Joyce Vincent & David Sharpe scored a 16-11 win for Hevingham against Ray Lamb, Steven Lamb & Simon Warnes to restrict the visitors to a 2-0 win which was their smallest winning margin so far this season in the Tens League. Halvergate’s next match at Connaught resulted in a 3-0 away win as Keith Baker & Keith Cooke beat Elaine & Bob Oatway 19-6, Donna & David Lamb beat Graham & Pat Benefer 13-10 and Mike Harvey, Robbie Lamb & Josh Baxter beat Joe LiRocchi’s triple 15-8. Connaught’s Mike Smail, Alison Rush & Mike Minshull recorded a 17-11 win against Ray Lamb, Steven Lamb & Robin Amos to deny the visitors a maximum points win. East Tuddenham collected two valuable away wins in the Bure League. They won 10-0 at Horsford Heroes with Chrissie Turner, John Turner & Gary Best leading the way with a 26-4 win against Carol Aggas, Richard Dix & John Aggas. Gillian Amos, Robin Amos & Simon Willies were also on form beating David Claxton’s triple 25-6. They foubnd things much more difficult at Woodbastwick but still came out of the match with a 7-3 win despite three of the four games all being drawn. Chris Mann’s triple made the difference with a tight 14-11 win against Lianne Mills’ triple. In the other games Margaret Harman drew 13-13 with Melly Woods, Derek Sheldrake drew 13-13 with Simon Willies and Willie Jefferies drew 14-14 with Gary Best. Hevingham won 10-0 at home to Windows. In the first half Aleck Haynes, Pat Hall & Maurice Kemp beat Mick Harris and his triple by 19-7 and Teresa Goldsmith, Joan Costello & Selwyn Goldsmith ground out a 19-11 win against Diane Boswell’s triple. After the break Hevingham completed their first 10-0 maximum of the season with Pat Williamson, Chris Brooks & Steve Hall beating Andy Drummie’s triple 16-7 and Alan Bunn, Betty Cox & David Sharpe winning by 22-7 against Keith Halford’s triple. Runaway South Norfolk League leaders Hempnall beat Hingham 8-2 with Paul Baker’s triple winning 27-5 and Lewis Cranston’s triple winning 22-5. Keith Thomas scored the visitors only win beating Neil Davidson 19-9. Hempnall also beat Diss 7-3 with Charlie Archer’s triple winning 18-10. Horsford beat Wreningham 9-1 with Roger Frank winning 18-7 but Wreningham beat Shropham 8-2 with Glenda Adcock’s triple winning 31-6. With Wymondham already confirmed as champions for the ninth time the last Breckland League games of the season were completed. Wymondham finished on 160 points, Carleton Rode runners-up on 137 points and Connaught “A” third on 114. Wymondham signed off with a 10-0 win at Shropham where Mary Fisher, Melvyn Barker & Chris Mann won 27-9. Other games saw Harling Griffins beat Banham 6-4 with Val Easter, Valerie Smith & Steve Easter winning 34-11, Connaught “A” winning 10-0 at Forncett and Connaught “B” beating Shropham 8-2.
