Shock result at Hevingham as Tuddenham falter

Hevingham pulled off a shock 8-2 home win against East Tuddenham that could well have a huge impact on the Bure League title race between Tuddenham and Halvergate. The home side shocked their visitors by winning both opening games with Penny Jefferies, Pat Hall & Steve Hall (pictured below) beating Elaine Willies, Jean Woods & Simon Willies 18-12 and Aleck Haynes, Chris Brooks & Maurice Kemp beating Chrissie Turner, John Turner & Gary Best 14-11. The second half saw Betty Cox, Joyce Vincent & David Sharpe record Hevingham’s third win of the night beating Linda Chadwick, Les Chadwick & Melvin Woods 17-6 leaving Gillian Amos, Gerald Potter & Robin Amos to score Tuddenham’s only win of the night beating Gill Bunn, Rex Cox & Alan Bunn 16-9. Horsford Heroes won 8-2 at home to Woodbastwick with Jane James’ triple winning 20-8, John Aggas’ triple winning 22-6 and Peter Fox’s triple winning 16-8. Thorpe Marriott won a close match 6-4 at Horsford BC. The teams won two games apiece but Marriott collected the bonus points by scoring 53 shots against 49.
