League & Cup action continues

CITY OF NORWICH LEAGUE – Heroes clear

A maximum 14-0 away win at Thorpe Marriott has put Horsford Heroes clear at the top of the City of Norwich League. Horsford BC are eleven points behind but have a match in hand after winning 13-1 away to Windows. Costessey will be pleased with a 12-2 win at County Council while Deaf Sports beat British Rail 10-4.

 WAVENEY LEAGUE – Big win for Broome at Haddiscoe

Broome are top of the Waveney League after a big 7.5 – 1.5 away win at Haddiscoe. Wortwell also got their second win, and second place, with a 7.5 – 1.5 win at home to Kessingland. Another team with two wins from two games are Carlton who blew away Ilketshall 9-0. A close match at Earsham saw visitors Bradwell share the points.

 BRECKLAND LEAGUE – Carleton Rode top table

Carleton Rode top the early season Breckland League table after an 8-2 win away to Harling Unicorns and a 10-0 home win against Shropham. Banham followed their opening win against Wymondham by beating Connaught “B” 9-1 and are in second place. Forncett went down by 6-4 at home to Harling Griffins in a match where only six shots separated the teams. Shropham struggled on Connaught’s slow mats where Diana Adcock, Sylvia Parsons & Bob Oatway ran out winners by a massive 41-3 in their game. Mike Parsons, Derek Liles & Owen Secker won by 31-7, Sheila Bragg’s triple by 23-10 and Lee Fallows by 18-15. 

NORWICH CUP – First Bus travel on

First Bus had a terrific first half in their Norwich Cup tie away to Framingham Earl taking seven points from eight. Bob Oatway's triple scored an 11-6 win against Malcolm Reynolds while their pairs, Joan Costello & Colin Coman and Elaine Oatway & Lesley Crowe both won. Framingham Earl's only point came from an 11-11 draw for Chris Musk, Ty Musk & Debbie Bunn against Bob Pattison, Betty Cox & Rex Cox. But Framingham Earl hit back in the second half with both triples winning to cut the deficit to 7-5. First Bus held on to win though as Lesley Crowe's pair won 7-5 while the other pairs game was drawn leaving First Bus winners by 10-6.
