The cross border Waveney League, consisting of a mixture of both Norfolk & Suffolk teams, have seen their opening league fixtures played and defending champions Broome move straight to the top of the table courtesy of an 8-1 home win against Ilketshall. Last season’s runners-up Wortwell enjoyed a 6.5–2.5 home win against Earsham which puts them in second place. Other results saw Bradwell beat Haddiscoe 6-3 while Kessingland were held to a 4.5–4.5 draw by visitors Carlton.
