The ESMBA have launched another new event into an already crowded winter season calendar. At Saturday’s ESMBA Annual General Meeting (a write-up has already appeared on this site) it was revealed that the National Over 55’s Pairs Championships will be played at Tamworth IBC on Sunday 8^th March alongside the National Under 18’s Championship. Norfolk officials have moved fast to find a space for it in their fixture list and have set Saturday 11^th November as the date for Norfolk’s qualifying heat at Hingham Sports & Social Club. The event, in common with the Under 18’s National Qualifier, will not have the status of a Norfolk County Championship and entrants will therefore not accrue any points for the County Points Table. Entry forms for all seven National Championship competitions will shortly be made available to NCSMBA clubs. Following a proposal by ESMBA President George Clarke, passed unanimously at an ESMBA Management Committee Meeting last year, there will be an increase in entry fees for all National Championship competitions this season.
