British Rail and Connaught start the new year in winning style

Costessey suffered a surprise 12-2 defeat at British Rail in their City of Norwich League clash this week. Leading the way were Carol Johnson, Pat Baker & Caroline Banham with a 14-5 win against John Chapman’s triple. The other winning British Rail triples were Mark Randell, Lynn Couzins & Tony Moore who beat Mike Ottaway’s triple 11-4 and Doreen Scarfe, Rodney Brock & Mark Baker who beat Jill Townsend’s triple 9-6. The only Costessey triple to win were Wendy Tweed, Roger Steele & Graham Tweed who beat Peter Johnson’s triple 15-5. Connaught began 2024 with a maximum 10-0 home win against Harling in the South Norfolk League. Despite all ten points going Connaught’s way all the games were quite tight. Richard Broad’s triple won 14-13. Bob Oatway’s triple won 11-8, Mike Minshull’s triple won 15-12 and Pat McDonald’s triple won by 16-9 which was the nights biggest win.
