The NCSMBA Management Committee has appointed Jon Sparham of Wymondham SMBC as Treasurer following the resignation of Jill Watson of Kirby Bedon SMBC at a NCSMBA Committee meeting this week. President Brian Saunders agreed to fill the role of Assistant Treasurer. Jill Watson was elected Treasurer in September 2003, following the resignation of Joan Kirk, and was one of the longest serving Officers on the Committee. Following a long discussion about the launch of the newly formed Thetford Short Mat Bowls Club, and matters relating to it, a motion was passed to disband with immediate effect the recently formed Development Sub-Committee. Assistant Membership Secretary Teresa Goldsmith informed the Committee that membership numbers had climbed above 1,000 again following the registration of new members including those that have joined Thetford SMBC.
