Connaught earned maximum points at home to league newcomers Mulbarton to move top of the South Norfolk League. It was Mulbarton’s first away match since their return to league bowls after many years and the slow Connaught mats will no doubt have proved a challenge for their inexperienced players. Top scoring triple for Connaught were Mike Parsons, Steve Judd & Roy Taylor who beat Marga Kempenaar’s triple 31-7 while Jenny Moon, Dave Flatt & Richard Broad beat Chris Partner’s triple 23-5. This season will be a learning curve for Mulbarton as they strive to get up to speed on visits away from Mulbarton but their home win in their opening match against Saxlingham bodes well for the future.
